The PUPPETS EP is a short 3-song EP recorded live-off-the-floor one freezing -25C January morning at Albert St Cocktail Co bar in Winnipeg. The unconventional location was chosen as a place to make a quick’n dirty rock’n roll EP with all the rough edges and no studio polish.

Hearing Trees is anxious, edge-riding folk rock to uplifting choruses with a backdrop of colourful, image-inducing lyrics. The hard-working band is often compared to the likes of R.E.M., The National, and The Editors. Frontman Graham Hnatiuk’s immersive poetry grasps the gritty, dry edge of modern life – from Canadian soldiers coming home from the Spanish civil war, to kayaking in the Arctic Circle, and the return of their hometown Winnipeg Jets.

MOON TAN. Energetic. Funky. Progressive. Vintage. Rock n’ Roll. These are a just few elements that have been forged together to create a unique yet very familiar sound—one that is cleverly harnessed by Winnipeg’s power trio known as Moon Tan. Born of three separate imaginations, their diverse influences seamlessly blend to form a new genre, or “anti-genre” of music and entertainment, which they refer to as “intergalactic space freak rock n’ roll.”

Silence Kit is bringing back the grunge rock sound that never really left in the first place. Intricate lyrics are delivered through raspy and powerful vocals, supported by melodic guitar and heavy punk inspired bass and drums. Silence Kit builds up into a frenzy and dips into low growls, satisfying whatever alt-rock post-whatever genre you want to peg them into.
