Three live panel discussions featuring local podcasters. radio hosts and producers, and other media personalities. Audience Q&A Each panel lasting approx 30-45 mins.
On Sept. 30, International Podcast Day, Winnipeg’s podcasting community is getting together for an afternoon of networking, education and more. The inaugural Manitoba Podcast Festival features local podcast hosts, producers, traditional radio personalities, and other members of the broadcast media (DIY or otherwise). They’re joining forces to help up-and-coming podcasters develop their skills and their unique voice, and to highlight some of the excellent work in the medium happening just below the mainstream in this province. Panel discussions will cover the ins and outs of starting your own show, the benefits and drawbacks of podcasting vs. traditional radio, and the role of women in developing the growing local community, among other topics. Audience members are encouraged to participate in Q&A sessions after each panel and to network with established broadcasters in the community.
