PURNIMA CHAUDHARI: an Ayurvedic practitioner and Reiki Master. She was born and raised in India as a Hindu. She learned about my religion but my parents taught me to respect all religions. She has read many books from different religions. Although she still practices her faith, she has evolved spiritually. She is a nature and animal lover and advocates plant-based eating. In the Hindu religion, the practitioners worship animals. In Ayurveda, they talk about “Satvic” food, food that is high in “Prana.” Meat is considered “tamasic,” meaning food that brings inertia, dullness, and disease, and destroys the balance between mind, body, and spirit. Purnima is very passionate about high Prana and plant-based eating. She coaches her clients to cook vegetarian food. She truly believes that eating this way can heal the body and mind.
ADAM LEVY: the Public Relations and Communications Director at the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, where he leads marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives including advocacy work and outreach. Adam’s ability to adapt complex subject matter into accessible and clear communications is crucial for education and transparency, ensuring the voice of the Winnipeg’s Jewish community is heard in matters of importance.

Gen Rigden, ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2004 and has been studying and teaching Modern Buddhism internationally for over 18 years. She is known for her warm-hearted disposition and presents the teachings in a clear and accessible way. Due to many local requests for Kadampa Buddhism to appear in Manitoba over the years, and a direct request by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Rigden was sent by Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada to Winnipeg in August 2016 to help develop a Kadampa Meditation Centre through the International Temples Project.
PASTOR RICK SAUER: the pastor of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Winnipeg. A flexitarian, he is supportive of the movement toward a plant-based diet and eco-friendly, sustainable means of food production. He shares a great concern for the world, and the way our industrialized food production systems leads to abuse and harm to creatures and the whole environment. The mission of St. Mark’s is to support a world where Christ’s unconditional love is felt by all of creation.
