Singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini is one of the hottest names in Canadian folk music, so Bobby Bazini tickets tend to sell out fast. In addition to performing to sold-out crowds on his own headline tours, the Quebec native has supported many mainstream artists on tour, including James Blunt on his Some Kind Of Trouble Tour and Alex Clare on his Tail of Lions Tour. He has also taken to the stage at world-renowned music festivals and concerts, including the Sound of Music Festival, the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal and the Stanley Cup Tribute Concert.
Bobby Bazini's background
Born Bobby Bazinet in Mont-Laurier, Quebec, Bazini started playing the guitar in childhood after receiving lessons from his father. At age 12, he went to live with his grandmother, who introduced him to her country music collection. Inspired by artists such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, Bazini began penning his own songs and performed them for the first time at a school variety show. At age 18, he performed at the Festival International de Theatre de Mont-Laurier and caught the attention of radio DJ Hugo Sabourin, who helped him to secure a management deal.
After signing to a record deal, Bazini released the track I Wonder, ahead of his debut studio album, Better in Time, in March 2010. The album peaked at No. 4 on the Canadian Albums chart and earned Platinum certification from Music Canada. Following the success of his album, Bazini dropped his second single Cold Cold Heart, ahead of his second studio album, Where I Belong, in May 2014. The album topped the Canadian Albums chart and sold more than 102,000 copies, making it the best-selling album in Canada in 2014. It also earned Platinum certification from Music Canada.
After topping the charts with his album, Bazini hit the road on a series of tours, performing as both a headliner and a supporting act. The Bobby Bazini tour included an appearance at the world's largest jazz festival, the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, in June 2014. Later that year, Bazini supported American actress and singer Lily Kershaw on her headline tour of North America, entitled Like The Sun Tour. Kershaw then supported Bazini on his own headline tour of Canada.
In September 2016, Bazini released his third single, C'est La Vie, ahead of his third studio album, Summer Is Gone. He then embarked on a promotional tour in support of the album, entitled the Summer Is Gone Tour. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Canadian Albums chart, selling more than 11,000 copies in the first week after its release.
