Cantor Dust is an experimental art-rock quartet from Treaty 1/Winnipeg, MB, crafting immersive, narrative-driven music that explores the space between despair and hope. Founded in 2000 as Mark Klassen’s solo synth project, the band has evolved over two decades and more than a dozen albums into a richly layered ensemble featuring voice, piano, synth, cello (Natanielle Felicitas), saxophone (Dan Moroz), and percussion (Scott Ellenberger). Known for spacious, cinematic arrangements and evocative storytelling, Cantor Dust blends spectral textures with a compelling dynamic range. Their pandemic-era release Too Many Stars spent 7 weeks atop the CKUW charts and was described as a “clear-eyed, considered approach to spaced-out rock” (The Manitoban) and “a wholly enthralling listen” (Wpg Free Press).Celebrated for emotionally powerful live performances, Cantor Dust continues to expand their sonic world with this new 10 song release entitled The Anatomy of Malevolence.
Luana Moth
Acid-Italo psych siblings LUANA MOTH presents their colourful amalgamation of precision-cut electronica, kaleidoscopic prog-rock, and intoxicating dance rhythms to tell the story of a young woman’s supernatural encounters. Tony and Giovanna Mazza operate the project entirely in the namesake of its enigmatic main character, and vividly canonize Luana’s life, her paranormal experiments, and the happenings of the quiet town in which she lived. Soaring synth leads, anthemic vocal gymnastics, frantic guitar work, and ambient passages come together to build a sonically arresting and immersive world of sound.
Juniper Moon
Juniper Moon is the solo project of Winnipeg based multi-media artist, songwriter and singer Lizzy Burt after a 6 year hiatus from the stage. Inspired by a love of shoegaze and dreap pop but influenced by the songs and sounds that include the pristine airiness of soprano singer Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins, the vocal power of Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries and the vulnerable strength of Sarah Mcglaughlan.
